教育总监拿督阿里慕丁对《每日新闻》指出：
“为了配合政府限制大马教育文凭报考科目决定，
明年开始大马教育文凭考试必修科将从原有的6科减少至3或4科”
大马教育文凭考生所需报考的6项必修科分别是：
马来文、英文、科学、数学、历史、回教教育或道德教育。
当必修科减少至3或4科，考生必须确保报考科目最少6科或最多10科。

-虽然可以减轻考生们的负担,
但是这项措施不但让学生无法报考本身科系相关课程，
也同时导致大马的考生水准大大降低.
如果这项措施实行,考生们将会无望挑战12a,13a,16a.

tis is not a big problem for me coz i m not going to take spm next year.. taking less subject may brought some problem to those in science stream.. most of them is taking account, economic, seni and so on.. they cant take more subjects although that subject are nid for their career.. i think the form 4 for tis year having the problem in choosing subjects so nt more than ten.. i just can say gud luck for them..
